Care for your vehicle
An exhaust system that suddenly becomes louder or starts rattling needs attention. We offer exhaust and muffler service.
Leaks, loose supports, and damaged components can change exhaust noise. A complete description of the sound and where it seems to come from helps separate exhaust concerns from other noises.
Before your visit
Tell us if the noise changes at startup or under acceleration. If exhaust fumes enter the cabin, stop safely, leave the vehicle, and arrange assistance.
Control exhaust noise and keep fumes outside
The exhaust system routes engine gases away from the passenger area and reduces noise. Pipes, joints, hangers, and the muffler are exposed to heat, vibration, moisture, and road conditions. A leak or loose component can sound different at idle and under acceleration, making a clear description useful.
When to arrange an inspection
- A louder exhaust note, ticking, or rattling
- Loose or hanging exhaust components
- Exhaust odor near or inside the cabin
Treat fumes as a safety concern
Exhaust gases can enter the cabin through a leak, and dangerous carbon monoxide has no smell. If you notice fumes inside, stop using the vehicle and arrange inspection. Do not run the engine in an enclosed space. Tell us about recent underbody impacts and whether the noise changes during acceleration or on rough roads. Repairs should preserve required emissions equipment.
