Oil Changes & Lube in Rexburg

Motor oil being added through a funnel

Care for your vehicle

Fresh oil of the correct specification supports engine lubrication. We offer oil changes and lubrication service as part of regular maintenance.

Oil type and service interval vary by engine and use. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s specification rather than assuming one oil or mileage interval suits every car.

Before your visit

Bring the mileage and last oil-change information. Tell us about oil consumption or leaks; a low oil-pressure warning is a separate urgent concern, not just a maintenance reminder.

Use the oil and interval your engine requires

Engine oil lubricates moving parts and helps manage heat and contamination. Viscosity, performance specification, filter selection, and service interval all matter. The same mileage rule does not fit every engine or driving pattern. Follow the manufacturer’s schedule and oil-life guidance, including any time-based requirement.

When to arrange an inspection

  • An oil-life reminder or scheduled service date
  • Frequent short trips, towing, or dusty driving
  • Oil level dropping between services

An oil change and an oil-pressure warning are different

A maintenance reminder indicates scheduled care; an oil-pressure warning may signal a condition that can quickly damage the engine. If an oil-pressure warning appears while running, stop safely and switch the engine off. Tell us about leaks or oil added between changes. Ask which oil specification applies to your vehicle, and retain the service date and mileage for future reference.

Troubleshooting Guide

View All Troubleshooting Guide
Is an oil-change reminder the same as an oil-pressure warning?

No. A maintenance reminder tracks service needs; an oil-pressure warning can signal inadequate lubrication. Stop safely and shut off the engine if oil pressure is low. Contact R & S Automotive Center about inspection rather than assuming an oil change will fix it.

Why does my engine oil level keep dropping?

An external leak or oil consumption can lower the level. Follow your owner’s manual for checking it and avoid overfilling. Tell R & S Automotive Center how much oil is being added and over what distance.

What should I do about an oily puddle under my car?

Do not identify a fluid by color alone. Note where it appears and photograph it from a safe position without crawling under the vehicle. R & S Automotive Center can investigate the source; stop driving if a warning appears or fluid loss is substantial.

My maintenance history is missing. Where should I start?

Begin with the current mileage and the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. R & S Automotive Center can discuss what records you have and which services need review. Replacing every fluid or part at once is not automatically the right starting point.

Why does my car need maintenance if it still runs normally?

Some fluids and components have time- or mileage-based service requirements before symptoms appear. Bring your schedule to R & S Automotive Center to discuss routine care separately from repairs for an active problem.

Service Questions

Can I arrange an oil change and lubrication service?

Yes. R & S Automotive Center offers oil changes and lubrication service. Bring the mileage and last oil-change information. Tell us about oil consumption or leaks; a low oil-pressure warning is a separate urgent concern, not just a maintenance reminder. Call 208-356-0786 to discuss your vehicle and arrange service.

How often should I change my oil?

Use your vehicle’s manufacturer schedule and oil-life system, including time limits and any severe-use guidance. Engine design, oil specification, and driving conditions determine the appropriate interval.

Can I use any synthetic oil?

No. Synthetic oil still needs the correct viscosity and performance approvals for the engine. The word synthetic alone does not establish suitability.

Should I ignore oil use between changes?

No. Check the level as instructed in the owner’s manual and record how much oil is added. A leak or change in consumption should be discussed even if the next oil change is not due.
